
Eurostat monthly data for production in construction (July and August 2022)
In August 2022 compared with July 2022, seasonally adjusted production in the construction sector decreased by 0.6% in the euro area and by 0.4% in the EU, according to first estimates from Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union. In July 2022, production in construction increased by 0.3% in the euro area and by 0.2% in the EU.
EFCC supports the 6 key messages related to the impact of the EU Taxonomy on the construction sector
EFCC, as member of the Construction 2050 Alliance, fully supports the 6 key messages of the Alliance calling for the EU taxonomy to create the conditions to support the transition to sustainable construction. The EU Taxonomy must become a facilitator of the green transition and enable the construction sector to effectively contribute to the EU’s climate targets. Non-alignment must not cut off construction products manufacturers and construction companies from financing.
CEN and CENELEC Joint Response to the European Commission consultation on a Sustainable Products Initiative
On 4 July 2022, CEN and CENELEC published their joint response to the EC Sustainable Products Initiative. CEN and CENELEC welcome the Sustainable Products Initiative as being instrumental to achieve the EU Green Deal and the UN Sustainable Development Goals and are committed to contributing to the new Regulation’s implementation.
Draft CEN Workshop Agreement (CWA) on ‘Sustainable Nanomanufacturing Framework'
The draft project plan describes and specifies the requirements of a simplified Sustainability Nanomanufacturing Framework (SNF) for sustainability management in nanomanufacturing pilot lines (NPLs), appropriate to their size, management capabilities and sustainability priorities.
