EFCC’s Manifesto for the EU legislative term 2024-2029 - Constructing a Sustainable and Competitive Future for Europe’s Construction Sector

As newly elected and appointed European policymakers take office, we, the European Federation of Construction Chemicals, present the key priorities that we think could support a successful transition to a thriving, competitive, and sustainable construction sector.
Construction is the second largest industrial ecosystem in the European Union in economic terms, offering enormous potential to contribute to the green and digital transformation of the European industry. Within this ecosystem, the construction chemicals industry plays a vital role, being essential to Europe's construction sector. Construction chemicals are integral to the built environment, influencing everything from energy efficiency to the durability and safety of buildings, and thus playing a critical role in achieving sustainability, innovation, and economic growth.

We believe that the European industry needs a predictable and consistent regulatory environment to remain globally competitive. Clear and upfront indications of new requirements are essential to foster confidence and encourage significant, long-term investments in innovative solutions.

The European Green Deal remains a cornerstone of Europe’s growth strategy, with the construction sector central to its success. While we are committed to driving the green and digital transition, this effort must be supported by a robust industrial strategy.
